SCHOOL MURAL..
Last year , the pupils of St Benedict's High School impressed us all with their first Civic Hall mural which was related to the links between Whitehaven and America the whole display providing a dramatic background for the floral ship Bee.
This year they have impressed one and all yet again with a different theme reminding us of our coal mining heritage which was for so long a vital part of everyday life in Whitehaven. Not surprisingly the centrepiece of this year's effort is a floral pit wheel which, when in full bloom will provide a colourful attraction , the work of the borough gardeners complementing the work of the pupils.
Congratulations to all involved .I am delighted to see that my former school is still hitting the headlines!!!!!!
